Rolling Stands
Rolling kiln stands are now available for your Skutt kiln. These stands are made specifically to fit each model and come fully assembled.  Constructed of heavy gauge, welded, square metal tubing, these things are tough and stable.

Available for both 10 and 12 sided kilns.

Cone 10 Digital Pyrometer

This Pyrometer comes with a Type K thermocouple, thermocouple mounting block, 5 feet of thermocouple wire, and a pyrometer flange for mounting the thermocouple to the kiln.  The Pyrometer comes with a case that can be mounted to the wall. It also has a flip out back so that it can be set on a table or shelf.  Since it is “Dual Input”, you can purchase an additional thermocouple package and monitor two kilns. It even remembers the minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in a firing. It is rated to Cone 10 with a plus or minus 0.4% of reading accuracy.limiting factor to element design can be having enough room to place the proper amount and gauge of wire.

Envirovent 2

The EnviroVent 2 is a Downdraft Ventilation System designed to extract fumes from your electric kiln and vent them outdoors before they have a chance to enter the room. Because it is a DownDraft Ventilation System the EnviroVent 2 also improves the firing atmosphere in the kiln while it is protecting you from the odorous fumes that can be emitted from certain clay bodies and glazes when they are fired.

What is the EnviroLink?
The EnviroLink is an electrical switching device that can be controlled by an automatic kiln to deter-mine when a vent turns on and off. The EnviroLink was developed by engineers at Skutt to provide kiln owners with the ability to automatically control the Skutt EnviroVent and EnviroVent 2. The device utilizes a programmable power output (OUTPUT 4) on Skutt KilnMaster and GlassMaster Controllers to turn on/off the EnviroVent and EnviroVent 2. The kiln may be programmed to control the vent during any segment of a Ramp/Hold Program or during preset times of a ConeFire or Glass Fire Mode program.

Lidifter

All Skutt 10 and 12-sided kilns come with a Lid Lifter as a standard feature. These spring-assisted lids are so light you can lift them with a finger. Compare them to other brands and you will feel the difference.

Every Skutt lid is coated with a strong, long lasting refractory cement that prevents brick dust from falling into the kiln and improves the lids structural integrity. Since both sides are coated, the lid can be reversed for double the life.

Skutt Controller with Current Sensing

From the outside there doesn't seem to be anything different about the New Kiln Controller by Skutt. The keys are the same and the steps for entering a program have not changed; but on the inside….

Current Sensing – No more hiring expensive technicians to perform basic electrical tests. Every GlassMaster Skutt Kiln is now equipped with a current sensor that allows remote technicians to troubleshoot your kiln right over the phone, The current sensor reads your voltage and amperage with just a few easy keystrokes accessed from the completely redesigned Menu function key. It can also check the board temperature, LED readout and a host of other useful troubleshooting data.

New Safety Features – Ever worry about a student or employee entering the wrong temperature and causing a meltdown in your kiln? You can now enter a maximum programmable temperature which makes it impossible. You can also program the kiln so it requires 2 key presses to start the program. This prevents accidental starts by curious passerbies.

New Easier to Read Display – There is a new 14 Segment LED display that allows for more descriptive prompts. No more deciphering cryptic messages.

These new controllers are now standard on every GlassMaster Kiln. Upgrades for older models are easy to install and available now.

Easy View

The Easy View is a new optional feature that makes it easier to see and program your controller by angling the touchpad up. It can be added to any KilnMaster kiln in minutes without having to remove any wires from the controller.

Type S Thermocouple

Pyrometer
If you are ordering a KilnSitter kiln you may want to equip it with a Skutt Analog Pyrometer. A pyrometer will let you know what the temperature of the kiln chamber is throughout the entire firing. This is especially helpful
to know when you are firing glass, heat treating metal or troubleshooting your kiln. The pyrometer comes complete with a MI Cable Type K thermocouple and all the mounting hardware needed.

Energy Saving Brick

• • Recommended for high-fire
  models.
  • Comes standard on 1627, 1227,
  and 614 models.
  • Remember this will decrease the
  chamber size on some models
  by 1".
  • 3" brick will increase the temperature
  rating on some models.
  • Kilns will cool slower

APM Elements
Kanthal APM elements are different from standard elements because they are manufactured from powdered material. This new technology provides improved dimensional stability at higher temperatures which results in significantly longer element life. If you are firing Crystal Glazes or consistently firing Cone 10 materials, these elements are highly recommended.

Furniture Kit
A furniture kit is used to create shelf layers inside your kiln. Although the contents of shelf kits vary depending on the kiln model all shelf kits will contain a selection of shelves and 1 or more post assortment kits. Furniture kits for kilns with 8 sides or less will come with 18 posts, 3 each in lengths 1" thru 6". Kits for larger kilns will come with 36 posts. All furniture kits are designed to fire to Cone 10 temperatures.

Zone Control
The Zone Control feature was designed for users who require tight uniformity of heat throughout the kiln. This feature incorporates thermocouples in each kiln section so each section can be monitored and controlled independently. This can be very helpful for applications where it is not possible to load the kiln evenly. The increased control can extend firing times in certain situations.
